Donald A. Hickey, Jr.

Donald is Vice President of Time Inc.’s Global Real Estate Property Management Department. Donald returned to Time Inc. in 2014 to lead the design / engineering development of its long term workplace strategy program and construction of its new corporate headquarters at Brookfield Place in lower Manhattan completed in late 2015 and awarded the CoreNet NYC Chapter 2016 Project of the Year. Time Inc. and Brookfield Properties executed a long-term lease in May 2014 enabling the media company to occupy six floors and 700,000 square feet of office space at 225 Liberty Street, in connection with its spinoff from Time Warner Inc. effective June 6, 2014. Donald served the same role in leading Time Inc.’s project development program at Industry City in Sunset Park Brooklyn, NY, 57,000 square feet of office space and auto showroom / video studio for Time Inc.’s Foundry and The Drive business initiatives in 2015. This Time Inc. project has been nominated for the CoreNet NYC Chapter 2017 Project of the Year. Prior to rejoining Time Inc. in 2014, Donald was Senior Vice President and Director of Operations for JLS Cost Management Systems Inc. since July 2006. Donald was instrumental in the continued client relationship with Time Inc. as well as developing new client relationships with firms such as ABN Amro, Morgan Stanley, Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Neuberger Berman, Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Citadel Investment Group. During his initial eight-year tenure with Time Inc. from 1998 to 2006, Donald directed several major facility relocations and upgrades, including the Time Inc. – Time Warner Asia / Pacific Headquarters project in Hong Kong and, most notably, a 1.2 million square foot “rolling refurbishment” of Time Inc.’s world headquarters at the Time & Life Building in New York City. The project, begun in 2002, was completed in 2007. It included upgrades to all infrastructure and tenant space over 30 floors. Donald and his team received Time Inc.’s prestigious President’s Award in 2004 in recognition for the ongoing success of this complex headquarters project. Prior to joining Time Inc.in 1998, Donald was Vice President – Global Corporate Services at Salomon Brothers Inc. from 1989 to 1998 with primary focus on the management of major strategic facilities development projects at 7 World Trade Center, New York and Hidden River Corporate Park in Tampa, Florida. Prior to joining Salomon Brothers, he was Vice President of Design & Construction at Goldman, Sachs & Co. from 1978 to 1989, responsible for a wide variety of major facilities projects across North America as well as internationally in London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Sydney. Donald resides in Garden City, New York with his spouse Colleen, a special education teacher and their three sons, Daniel (Chaminade High School 2002; University of Notre Dame, 2006); Colin (Chaminade High School 2005; Hofstra University, 2010) and Nolan (Chaminade High School 2008; United States Naval Academy 2013). Donald is a 1977 graduate of the New York Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science, Architectural Technology. He is an active member of CoreNet Global and International Facilities Management Association. Donald is ViceChairman of the Incorporated Village of Garden City Architectural Design Review Board. Donald is a member of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation (Long Island Chapter) Annual Golf Tournament Board of Directors.
